Principle : Employee travel outside their home is prohibited.
Exceptions : Business travel by employees is permitted in the following cases
- Commuting to and from work and business trips if these cannot be postponed;
- Purchases necessary for professional activity/purchases of essential goods in establishments whose activities remain authorized ( namely vehicle maintenance and medical articles , computer and communication equipment, financial and insurance etc.) .
Terms
To be in possession of :
- A special travel certificate to be drawn up by the employee on the model provided by the public authorities;
- From a certificate from the employer:
– Which indicates that the employee is authorized to travel from their home to their place of work for professional reasons;
– That the said employee cannot perform his function within the framework of a teleworking arrangement.
Sanction:
In case of contravention of the travel restrictions: fine of €38, which can "very quickly" be increased to €135 according to the Minister of the Interior.
Recommendations to businesses
- Provide the employees concerned with a company registration certificate (k-bis extract) or a power of attorney from the signatory of the employer's certificate;
- Invite employees to have proof of residence in their possession.
