The law modernizing our healthcare system was definitively adopted by the National Assembly on December 17, 2015, and published in the Official Journal on January 27, 2016. This legislation notably prohibits the use of electronic cigarettes in certain public places, such as enclosed and covered workplaces for collective use (Article L.3511-7-1 of the Public Health Code). Similarly, the law extends the scope of tobacco-related offenses to the use of electronic cigarettes and empowers municipal police officers to issue citations for certain tobacco-related violations (Article L.3512-4 of the Public Health Code).
